SkyToGrid is an experimental prototype. It estimates solar and wind power from weather forecasts and simplified equipment assumptions. Hydro estimates are illustrative and may not capture catchment inflows, reservoir operations or dispatch constraints.
Cloud forecasts use low-, mid- and high-level cloud cover. Solar power estimates use irradiance and simplified module losses. Wind estimates use wind speed at hub height and an indicative power curve. Forecasts have not been validated against measured plant output and should not be relied on for market nominations, dispatch or investment decisions.
